Freedom Sunday Wrap-up

In Mark 16:15, Jesus says, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” In the week leading up to September 27th, the people of Liberty Baptist Church WENT! Approximately 8,000 brochures were put on mailboxes and doors of those in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and Mebane areas. Each of these brochures was an invitation–an invitation to church, yes; but more importantly an invitation to Jesus through the story of Chantha Chhim. This special canvas project was unusually successful. We have seen moderate success using this canvas method in the past, but the Lord had his hand on this particular effort!

As it turns out, over 20 adult visitors showed up to hear of Chantha’s escape from Cambodia. Out of those 20+, 20 of them came as a result of the brochures!! Four adults were saved in the morning service, and one of them was baptized! Ironically, three of the first-time guests on Sunday morning came back Sunday evening for our service!

All the glory belongs to Jesus! He worked in the hearts of our people. Our people then worked hard at getting the word out. Then the Holy Spirit worked again to bring people and see folks saved! I am humbled by the fact that our Lord and Saviour knows each and every detail about each and every person that attended this special day! In our follow-up visiting, one dear lady has already showed interest in joining our church! Praise the Lord!
